how did you decide to become a chinese medicine practitioner?

As a young girl growing up in the country, I witnessed first hand the cycles of life while watching the garden and farm animals grow. I developed an affinity for the beauty of life and a strong desire to help others. This compassion led me to begin my holistic health practice as a massage therapist. During a massage therapy course I was introduced to Chinese medicine meridian theory and Taoist practices. I learned how the meridians covered the whole body and how each organ system related to one of the five elements. The Taoist tradition of following the seasons to attune mind, body and spirit really resonated with me. This kinship ignited a desire to broaden my knowledge and study Chinese medicine.

I am thankful for the opportunity to combine my massage therapy experience, birth support education and Chinese medicine to create the healing practice I love. Supporting patients throughout every stage of their unique sexual and reproductive health journey is a true honor.

what do you love about collaborative care?

I love collaborative care because it is a wonderful way for us to see the bigger picture as we each add a piece to the puzzle. I love the opportunity to share and learn with my colleagues and to be able to offer supportive care to a larger number of patients.

what is something you love to help your fertility patients with?

I love helping my patients reconnect to their womb space. I have patients who have experienced fertility challenges, gynecological issues, pain or lack of sensation during intercourse, trauma and post surgery scarring. With these unpleasant experiences, I have found that patients often disassociate or forget about their reproductive structures and creative center. Reintroducing my patients to their womb space by combining TCM, Mercier Therapy, Cupping and Fertility massage in a safe and comfortable environment has offered a positive experience allowing my patients to reconnect and heal.

what inspires your work?

I am inspired daily by each patient's unique story and their dedication to creating the life they love.

what is your self-care ritual?

My weekly self-care rituals include moving my body daily during my favorite workout, spending quality time with my partner, two dogs and friends, following the seasons and moon cycles, taking baths, applying essential oils to acupressure points, facial gua sha and cupping, eating delicious food, dancing, listening to music and getting good sleep.

What are you watching /listening to/reading right now?

I am currently reading Ancestral Medicine - Rituals for Personal and Family Healing by Daniel Floor and Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski, and I always love watching Call The Midwife.
